This shampoo is definitely hydrating and I like the fact that it does not contain any harsh detergents that would strip my hair color and/or dry my hair out. I notice that my hair color stays fresher longer when I use this shampoo. Also, it seems that a little product goes a long way (unlike many other shampoos I have used). In addition, it is not in any way drying to the scalp.
